Biography

Nina is a licensed MFT who after many moves, adventures, and traveling has settled in Placer County not far from her hometown of Coloma, CA. Nina enjoys the outdoors, the arts, and learning new things and exploring new places with her husband and son. Nina was a Preventive Medicine/Field Navy Corpsman for 5 years before becoming a therapist. Prior to becoming the Auburn Program manager Nina was the trauma therapist for the Sex Trafficking and Sexual Abuse treatment program at Stand -Up Placer. She worked at Sutter Psychiatric PHP/IOP program following 2 years as the Lead Clinician for the Behavioral Health program at the Veterans Resource Center.

She has worked extensively in the treatment of substance abuse, and worked 2 years with opiate addicts utilizing various treatment approaches. Out of graduate school Nina was hired by UCLA and worked with all branches of the military in Okinawa Japan providing resiliency training and support to the military and their families. When able, Nina provides therapy free of cost with the non-profit The Soldier Project. Nina embraces and believes mindfulness and the middle path is a viable way to obtain peace within, and globally.
