I have been working in the fields of mental health and addiction since 1987. I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and Specialization in Alcohol and Other Drugs from John F. Kennedy University in 1989. I earned my doctorate in 2003 from the Wright Institute in Berkeley.
While a student at the Wright Institute, I became excited about Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Because of its effectiveness, I have been using DBT in my clinical practice for the past 10 years. Click here to learn more.

I am currently in private practice in Auburn and Davis California and have experience working with individuals, couples, and families from many cultures, religions, and alternative lifestyles. While having counseling with me you would experience someone who is said to be compassionate, open hearted, broad minded, and flexible.
Over the years I have been trained in many different theoretical approaches and models. At this stage of my career, I can say that I am truly integrative in my approach. While working with you I might use techniques from Family Systems Theory, Family/Marital Therapy, Control Mastery Theory, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in order to help you heal from the challenges you are experiencing.
